End User Licence Agreement

Last updated 2026-10-16.

This agreement is between you and Octavio Emilio Criollo Ortiz, trading as Spectrum Dicta (ABN 41 585 598 970) (“we”, “us”), and covers your use of Spectrum Dicta (the “Software”). Installing or using the Software means you accept it.

1. What you get

A perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software on up to three computers you own or control, for personal or commercial purposes.

Perpetual means what it says: the version you have keeps working, without expiry. No feature is withdrawn later, and the Software does not stop working if our services disappear.

2. Updates

Your purchase includes one year of new versions from the date of purchase. When that year ends:

Nothing about the Software degrades when the year ends. What ends is the right to receive new versions.

3. Activating

Activating a computer requires an internet connection, because it is how we count the three. The activation stores a derived fingerprint of that computer; see the Privacy Policy.

You can free a slot at any time from the application, without contacting support. Reinstalling the Software on the same computer does not consume a slot.

4. What you may not do

Sharing one licence key across an organisation beyond the three computers is not permitted; a volume arrangement is available on request.

5. Components that are not ours

The Software includes open source components, each under its own licence. Their notices travel in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt, distributed beside the executable, and nothing in this agreement limits the rights those licences grant you over those components.

Speech models you download carry their own licences, listed in the product documentation. Some permit commercial use and some restrict it; the catalogue only offers models whose terms allow the use this product makes of them.

6. Your data

Your voice, your transcriptions and your API keys are yours. We do not receive them. The Privacy Policy explains this in full.

7. No warranty

The Software is provided “as is”. Speech recognition is inherently imperfect: it will make mistakes, and it is your responsibility to check what it produces before relying on it. We do not warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

Do not use the Software as the sole record of anything where an error would be dangerous or irreversible — medical, legal, financial or safety-critical work — without a human checking the result.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the licence. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential damages.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. If you bought as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

9. Purchase and refunds

Orders are processed by our online reseller, Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all orders: Paddle takes the payment, issues the invoice, handles sales taxes and processes refunds. This licence is granted by us, not by Paddle.

Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

10. Ending this licence

This licence ends if you breach it materially and do not fix the breach within 30 days of being told. On termination you must stop using the Software and remove it from your computers.

We may revoke a licence key that was refunded, charged back, or published publicly. Revoking ends access to new versions; it does not reach into your computer to disable what you have installed.

11. Law and jurisdiction

This agreement is governed by the law of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.

Nothing in this agreement excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or under the consumer law of your own country where that law applies to you. Where those rights conflict with this agreement, those rights prevail.

12. The whole agreement

This agreement, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy, is the entire agreement between us about the Software. If a court finds a clause unenforceable, the rest stands.
